Explanation

Used with classifiers and quantities: 两个人, 两本书. For phone numbers, dates and counting, 二 is used.

Example sentences

我 wǒ 买 mǎi 了 le 两 liǎng 瓶 píng 水 shuǐ

I bought two bottles of water.

两 liǎng 个 gè 同学 tóngxué 在 zài 说话 shuōhuà

Two classmates are talking.

我 wǒ 家 jiā 离 lí 学校 xuéxiào 两 liǎng 公里 gōnglǐ

My home is two kilometers from the school.
