接尾辞としてtouは軽声になり、位置を表す語に付く：里头（中）、外头（外）、上头（上）、下头（下）。

tóuとして頭や先端を意味する。大型動物の量詞として使われる：一头牛（牛一頭）。头疼（頭痛）などの複合語も作る。
